Quick Overview

An introductory course for those who, as part of a wider clinical or counselling role, occasionally have to run training courses for their colleagues or for other agencies.
For staff of alcohol and drug agencies in England the course supports DANOS standards ENTOL10, ENTOL13, AD4.

By the end of the course participants will be able to

  • Improve their presentation skills
  • Design training events
  • Adapt existing materials to meet the differing needs of participants
  • Manage experiential training exercises
  • Troubleshoot problems that occur during the training process

Pip Mason
Pip is a nurse, trained in cognitive-behavioural approaches to counselling people with addictions problems. She is co-author (with Steve Rollnick and Chris Butler) of Health Behavior Change, A Guide for Health Professionals and author of numerous training packages relating to substance use, counselling and health promotion. Pip is a member of the international network of motivational interviewing trainers.
