Writing Training Programmes

Pip Mason in dialogue with course participants.

Do you need to provide a series of training events? Do you have a pool of trainers to deliver it but no time to write the materials, or little experience of designing training from scratch?

I can design you a trainers' manual, visual aids and run an induction session to prepare your trainers to run the course.

GPs in Australia were facing difficulties in working with drinkers and drug users who had been coerced (by courts, families, employers) into seeking help. An alcohol and drug agency wanted to offer these GPs training in motivational interviewing skills. They commissioned a trainers' manual which included session plans, slides and handouts, a video demonstrating the relevant counselling skills and an induction session for the trainers.

Associate Professor Steve Allsop of the Drug and Alcohol Office and Curtin University of Technology, Western Australia says;

"I strongly recommend using Pip Mason's expertise. She has conducted workshops for a range of staff, has developed training materials and resources and conducted train-the-trainer programs. All of these are highly rated and the resource materials much sought after. The training for GPs is particularly well regarded. Pip Mason delivers quality product in good time and in good humour."
