Do you work with adult substance users? If so you have probably heard about DANOS, the Drug and Alcohol National Occupational Standards. Staff development, working practices and supervision should be geared around enabling and ensuring staff meet these standards. We have mapped our courses to these standards.

They are being reviewed and updated (across the UK). There is a consultation period until 30th September. See www.skillsforhealth.org.uk if you want more info.

What does this mean for our training?

  • When the new standards come out we will look at how our courses fit with them
  • If appropriate we will tweak or restructure our programmes to get a closer match
  • We'll map on the site which courses will help you towards meeting which standards

Meanwhile we will continue tolisten to what our course participants tell us they want and need to help them to do the best possible job to help service users along their recovery journeys.
